BRINKMANSHIP
I took our love to the edge of the cliff,
And threw it into the teeth of the gale.
I spindled, mangled and bent it as if
My mission in life was to make it fail.
Trashed it, smashed it, bashed and burnt it.
Spat on it, sat on it, maimed and hurt it.
Now I’m paying for it.
[by Anahera Herbert-Graves (May 2005)]
“And the King shall answer and say, Verily I say unto thee, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” [Matthew 25:40]
